Welcome to the Steamboat Springs Early Childhood Center! This public school early childhood program is committed to serving all children, both with and without special needs, in an inclusive preschool environment. It is the belief of the Steamboat Springs School District that students with varying needs and abilities will benefit from working together in the same classroom. The provision of inclusive educational services to young children promotes their potential for learning and enhances their understanding of, and respect for others.
NWBOCESNWBOCES special service providers and our education staff provide activities that include all children, as well as specific activities for children with individual education plans (IEP). These activities are done within the classroom environment, and complement the learning that is already taking place.
High-quality Preschool"Children who attend high-quality preschool enter kindergarten with better pre-reading skills, richer vocabularies, and stronger basic math skills than those who do not," says NIEER director W. Steven Barnett, PhD.

**Attn Parents!** 2019-2020 CLASS PREFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT
about 1 year ago
At this time there are an ample amount of preferences for the 2019-2020 morning classes. Due to this influx, we want to make everyone aware that there will be some applicants that do not get their preferences honored. There are a lot of factors that go into scheduling for preschool and it is not decided on a first come-first serve basis. For those of you that already have your applications completed, nothing has been assigned to your child yet even though your application is approved. If you are a person that already requested the morning class and you are more flexible than is indicated on your form, please call Jennifer at the district office, 970-871-3198.
The afternoon sessions will likely offer smaller class sizes, giving your child more one on one time with their teacher.
Please contact us with any questions or if you feel you have a special case scenario.
Thank you and we look forward to teaching your kids next year!

Preschool 2019-20 Program Schedule & Calendar
about 1 year ago
The Early Childhood Center operates Monday through Thursday and is open from 8:15 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The school district calendar is followed for holiday and other closures to be consistent with older siblings enrolled in school. Space is limited and our enrollment capacity is 15 students per classroom. We offer half- day morning classroom from 8:15 am to 11:30 am, and one half-day afternoon classroom from 12:15 pm to 3:30 pm.
Our program and tuition fees are based on your child's attendance (4) four days a week to maximize the instructional benefits of the program. Tuition is $100.00 per week for our half-day program. Limited partial scholarships may be available based upon financial hardship. If you believe your household would qualify, an application is included in the additional documents. You must submit the financial hardship application to the district office for review.
